Look to the left and right side bars and read the scripture that tells you why you should seriously consider and commit to join us serving the Lord on this mission trip. The scripture provided here comes from multiple different translations of the Bible found at Bible Gateway. As you move down this page, you will find specific information about the mission trip that will change your life. My life was transformed from going on the mission trip in April 2003. |
Contemporary English Version (CEV) Deuteronomy 24:19[ Leave Some of Your Harvest for the Poor ] [ Moses said to Israel: ] If you forget to bring in a stack of harvested grain, don't go back in the field to get it. Leave it for the poor, including foreigners, orphans, and widows, and the LORD will make you successful in everything you do. |

Let's answer your question "who founded Tapestries of Life Ministries?" Click this (you need Acrobat Reader) to open and read about them. Like me when I was invited to go on the mission trip I wanted to know what it will cost. Click this to open up the document that explains the cost for this trip. When looking at the figure consider that you are getting 7 nights of lodging, all of our meals each day, transportation between the lodging facility and the House of Gems campus. I can tell you the meals were very very good. I wish there was a restaraunt that we could go to get the same level of taste. The remainder of the fee purchases the building materials that you will be using. The church group that I went with did several different types of fundraisers to offset or cover most of the cost. When, I went it was chosen that we were going to do the Mercy Ministry. To learn more click this. We raised enough funds through fundraising to do the Mercy Ministry. This was such a rewarding experience to hand food directly to the person that will enjoy it. I will leave to you to find more scripture to see what God says about providing food for the poor. My hope is there will be someone that will go on this trip to lead the fund raising effort so that we can do this Mercy Ministry. |

Contemporary English Version (CEV) Deuteronomy 10:18 The LORD defends the rights of orphans and widows. He cares for foreigners and gives them food and clothing. |
I would be great through fund raising that the cost for each person could be partially covered by funds from the fundraisers. Another idea that we could do a fundraiser for is to raise money to furnish a room in the orphanage. We could raise funds to hire a local worker to help increase the accompliments of our trip. If you know how to sew or know someone to sew, here is another way you can help. To answer your question about what is the interary for each day that we are on this trip click here to review the itenary. |

We will be provided a copy of this workbook that goes into more details of the mission trip. Tapestries of Life requests us to read the 7 day devotional included in the workbook on Serving. I am thinking by now you have a question about learning more details on the travel aspect of the trip. This writing explains travel. To give you a heads up on getting the passport you will need, the current estimate on getting a passport using routine service is 4 - 6 weeks. I would say you probably want to send in your application 3 - 4 months before going on the trip so there is adequate time for your application to be filled. See passports for details. |

New Living Translation (NLT) James 1:27 |
Psalm 146:3 Don't put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life. Mere humans don't have what it takes; when they die, their projects die with them. Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in God and know real blessing! God made sky and soil, sea and all the fish in it. He always does what he says— he defends the wronged, he feeds the hungry. God frees prisoners— he gives sight to the blind, he lifts up the fallen. God loves good people, protects strangers, takes the side of orphans and widows, but makes short work of the wicked. |
